Islam and the Ethics of Authenticity: Tradition, Reform, Innovation

SherAli Tareen was a 2015-2016 AIPS Fellow and conducted research in Lahore and Islamabad for six months. Tareen "examines intra-Muslim traditions of debate and contestation on critical ethical issues such as the relationship of Islam and democracy, minority rights in Islam, the boundaries of friendship between Muslims and non-Muslims, and the limits of innovation and creativity in Islamic law and theology."
