Muslim Associations in Colonial Punjab and the Creation of an Urdu Public Sphere

Maria-Magdalena Fuchs (Princeton University) was a 2014 AIPS Short-Term Research Grant awardee who conducted two months of research in Lahore, Pakistan. Fuchs' research centers on "how Muslim associations (so-called Anjumans) contributed to the creation of an Urdu public sphere in late colonial Punjab by pushing for educational, social, and
religious reforms."
