Moving Lahore: Mass Transit, Democracy and Materiality of Politics in Pakistan
Fatima Tassadiq was a 2019-2020 AIPS Fellow and conducted research in Pakistan for two months. Tassadiq's research focused on the impact of the construction of the Orange Line Metro Train, the first metro train of its kind in Pakistan, on local communities in Lahore, Pakistan, investigating the effects of construction on the neighborhood of Old Anarkali where a large number of homes and businesses were demolished to make way for the construction of the metro train.
