Zain Mian was a 2020 AIPS Short-Term Research Grant awardee and conducted research on Lahori media for ten weeks. Mian "worked in close collaboration with the GC University archives, which house the entire print run of Nuqūsh, a significant post-Partition literary magazine then edited by Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi and Hajra Masroor."

Muntazir Ali was a 2020 AIPS Short-Term Research Grant awardee and conducted research in Peshawar and Chitral in the summer and fall of 2021. Ali's work created "a crucial initial glimpse into the rich and complex meanings of place, the various modes of place-making, and how place has been invested with meaning in this part of the world."

Suneel Kumar was a 2019 AIPS Short-Term Research Grant awardee and conducted research on the Indus River and delta for two months. Kumar collected data through traveling to different creeks, villages, working with fishermen and interviewing multiple government and non-government officials.

View Resource Comparative Literature Assessment of Jaun Elia

Hamza Iqbal was a 2019 AIPS Short-Term Research Grant awardee and conducted research in Karachi, Pakistan at Habib University about contemporary Urdu poet Jaun Elia. Iqbal "conducted over 15 in-depth interviews with individuals as well as received access to Ismaili Tariqah Board library which Jaun used to frequent and which also houses two translations that he did for the library."
